Plantar fasciitis, that’s one of the most common foot problems that we see here at the clinic.

It means inflammation of the fascia and that’s a sort of ligament or band of tissue that connects the heel to the ball of the foot, and depending on what your foot tends to want to do. If you have a foot that wants to overpronate, so roll too much towards the inside or supinate the outside, it can put more strain on that ligament there, and there are tons of other causes that can cause plantar fasciitis.

One of the main ways that we treat it here is with a custom-made foot orthotic. So basically a device that helps equalize the weight of your, stops your foot from rolling too much towards the inside or the outside. It takes away a lot of pressure from the heel by equalizing the weight better throughout your whole foot and that combined with a good sturdy pair of shoes. It generally doesn’t take long at all for your plantar fasciitis pain to go away.
